REUSE, REDUCE, RECYCLE

The road to packaging sustainability is under development, but it is a path made more difficult by the habits of a consumerist society.

New kind of packaging made with materials and processes that respect the environment are therefore important for the sustainability concept. It’s essential that the packaging minimizes waste during the supply chain and at the consumer level: thus it becomes an “eco-friendly” packaging that guides consumers to embrace the concept of packaging reduction, reuse and recycling.

With a view to greater social and environmental responsibility, it’s therefore necessary to improve packaging design: a project that takes into account each phase of the product life cycle, which minimizes the impact that packaging can produce for the future of the planet and of the generations that will follow.

That’s why the concept of Life Cycle Design is becoming increasingly popular in the packaging world. It’s a design methodology based on the concept of Life Cycle Assessment, which is the analysis of the life cycle of the products. In short, it means thinking about packaging throughout its life cycle, from production to logistics, from distribution to consumption, up to its recycling: the objective, as mentioned above, is to minimize waste, reducing the impact on environment and society.

A necessary consequence of Life Cycle Design is the trend of packaging reuse.

Designing a bottle, a jar or a box that can exist beyond the life expectancy of the product it contains, is the best way to act eco-responsibly, giving added value to the product itself.

For this reason INSIGHT is composed of packaging designed not only to be used and recycled but also to be reused.

All our bottles and jars, once their primary function of preserving, protecting or transporting products has been exhausted, can be transformed into something else, through innovative and above all sustainable solutions.
